It’s not just what you learn, it’s who you get to know, says SEO consultant and ClickZ author Mark Jackson in his latest article, “Benefits of Attending a Search Marketing Conference.”

Jackson, president and CEO of Vizion Interactive, Inc., a leading SEO company headquartered in Dallas, TX, moderated a News Search Panel at SES New York this year, which included The Buyer Group CEO Lisa Buyer.

In an industry that changes by the day, Jackson explains there are some things that can’t be covered by simply reading columns.

“You must gain practical experience, have one-on-one consultation regarding your particular challenges and attend a conference on search marketing on a regular basis,” he writes.

“At each of these events, you’ll have the opportunity to hear some of the country’s experts in search optimization, paid search advertising, social media, Web analytics, usability, and mobile search. Aside from the already great panels that are established, there are sometimes live clinics where you can submit a website for review by experts.”

Check out the entire Search Marketing Conference article for Jackson’s highlights of two of The Buyer Group’s favorite conferences: SES and PubCon. Maybe we’ll see you next month at SES San Francisco.
